The following 8 common foods (or food ingredients) should all be labelled with skull and crossbones!
These foods are so deadly and harmful that eating (and drinking) them on a regular basis will seriously question your longevity.
I hope this list helps you decide that the only person you can trust with your health is you. They’re what I would call the Evil Eight:
1) Fizzy drinks
ANY fizzy drink—diet or regular—is acid in a bottle (or can). It’s SO acidic that it takes 32 CUPS of water to neutralize the acid in just ONE can of soda in your body.
Your very clever body uses its own alkaline minerals (calcium from your bones and magnesium from your muscles) to neutralise the acid. Eventually, over time, that can lead to osteoporosis, weak muscles, tooth decay and brittle, porous bones that fracture easily. And you thought that osteoporosis came from not drinking enough cow juice! Plus fizzy drinks contain the worst form of sugar on the planet— high fructose corn syrup.
Don’t think diet drinks are any better either—because here are the dangers of…
2) Artificial sweeteners
There’s no other way to say this, other than they’re poisons!
Here are just some of the documented side effects of aspartame (known by the brand names Equal, or NutraSweet):
1 Decreased vision and/or other eye problems such as blurring, flashes, tunnel vision
5. Eye pain; Dry eyes/decreased tears
Severe drowsiness and sleepiness
Numbness of the arms and legs
Slurring of speech
Heart palpitations/rapid heart beat
Shortness of breath
High blood pressure
Diarrhea, sometimes with blood in stools
Stomach pain/pain while swallowing
These are just a few examples – there’s plenty more.
If you want to use a non-calorie sweetener, use Stevia. It’s natural, been around for centuries and has a proven track record of safety. In fact – more recently, the food companies have already recognized the benefits of Stevia and have brought it to the market place.
Anybody who knows me will know how strongly I feel about the regular consumption of milk and dairy produce in the diet. There’s a separate blog already done and there’s not much more to add really…. apart from the fact that the protein Casein found in dairy is a known carcinogen! Lovely…. and this is supposed to be ‘helping’ us stay healthy.

4) Hydrogenated oils
Hydrogenated and partially hydrogenated oils contain trans-fatty acids, which are fats that are not found in nature, and that your body CANNOT metabolize. Instead, they accumulate; clog your arteries, cause inflammation, cell damage and heart attacks.
These bad fats are found in deep fried foods, margarine, baked goods, powdered and artificial coffee creamers, and most processed (packaged) foods.
Look for the words “hydrogenated” or “partially hydrogenated” on package labels. I would avoid at all costs!
5) Nitrite cured meats
Cured meats made with sodium nitrite (or sodium nitrate) include hot dogs, lunchmeat, bacon, ham and corned beef.
When you eat nitrites, they can be converted into nitrosamines (which are potent cancer-causing chemicals) in your body. The primary types of cancers associated with nitrite consumption are colo-rectal, stomach and pancreatic.
6) Processed foods
Processed “foods” include all packaged foods (in boxes, cans, jars, bags or frozen cartons) that contain ingredients other than a basic food. Although the appeal behind them is convenience and indefinite shelf life, they are extremely unhealthy and loaded with chemicals and preservatives.
Besides the chemicals they contain, processed foods are harmful to your health for these reasons:
They use up loads of digestive energy, and then basically turn to nothing but waste. They contain no water to transport nutrients or carry away wastes from your body, like fruits and vegetables do. Instead, they add to the waste pile, making you very toxic. There are limited nutrients in this kind of ‘food’ (I use the word food lightly).
It’s a recipe for disaster!
7) Factory farmed fish & meats
Farmed fish are crammed into little pens and fed things they were never meant to eat like soy, poultry litter, and hydrolyzed chicken feathers. They survive in putrid water full of urine and faeces – not exactly nutritious?
Without going into too much detail, factory farmed animals are fed cheap foods, stand in their own filth, are injected with growth hormones and anti-biotics and the majority never see daylight. These animals along with your health suffer, and it’s time we stopped ignoring it.
Digesting animal flesh takes up so much of your precious energy, it’s no wonder you feel tired after a big Sunday roast or a large meat/fish meal. And please be under no illusions that white meat like chicken is ‘better’ for you…it’s not. Farmed chickens are full of artificial hormones to bulk them up, often they can’t even stand because their body weight is too much for their under-developed legs to carry. You, in turn, eat these hormones.
Meat (including fish) is mucus forming, it will clog your arteries and what the body can’t eliminate will stick to the wall of your colon and stay there…producing toxic gases. Over the years, it will prohibit the absorption of valuable nutrients and eventually be the cause of many diseases.
If you do want to eat meat, eat wild fish and free-range organic meats…. not farmed.
8) Tap water
All water is NOT created equal. Since our bodies are alkaline, our water must be alkaline too. Thanks to acid rain and the chemicals added by municipalities, that’s not always a given.
Regular (unfiltered) tap water is acidic and contains toxins like fluoride and chlorine. Avoid tap water (this includes water fountains) at all costs, no matter what you may read in the news or what your local politician may tell you.
The best sources of water are distilled water or filtered water (using reverse osmosis, Brita filters or similar filtering).
